The box which helps filling out and saving login forms is now only shown when the form-bases fill out feature is enabled. There are tooltips for all buttons in the favorites toolbar and the status bar New menu item added for the web search (activates the search field in the toolbar, if present, the address field otherwise) Bugfix: Installing modules from the internet didn’t work The new release uses the newer modern web engine of the macOS which is much faster and smoother than the classic engine that was used by older iCab releases. iCab 6.0 is completely rewritten, therefore there’re many new features and existing many old features have changed. (I'll post the v6.0.1 - 6.0.3 notes separately) - Nice! Here are the v6.0 release notes. Bugfix: macOS Catalina put certain downloaded ZIP archives into quarantine, so that Apps contained within the archive could not be launched.ICab 6.0.3 is out! It's excellent with a lot of new features and more coming! It looks great! v6.x does NOT require a new license. Bugfix: Moving tabs from one window to another should work now iCab now uses the native „Tabs“ feature of the macOS, so the tabs in iCab will now behave just as the Tabs in all other Apps using the native Tabs feature (like Safari Mail, the Finder etc). This has the advantage that iCab can now rely on many native macOS features which are only available in newer macOS releases. Older macOS releases are no longer supported. Because the modern web engine had too many limitations under macOS 10.12 and older, the minimum macOS release for the new version of iCab is therefore macOS 10.13. Using the „Add“ or „Subscribe“ links on these sites can directly import these filter lists, but you can also simply download these lists into a file and then use the „import“ feature of the Filter Manager to import these files. The filter manager window provides a few links to web sites where you can find these filter lists. The new filter manager supports the popular filter lists from AdBlock Plus, Easylist, uBlock and compatible. Therefore the filter manager is completely new. iCab is now using the native filter capabilities of the modern web engine of the macOS. However, it's finally been updated (see below for the link. Nothing but freezes and crashes, even while attempting to view even the most basic of web pages. -> The release History page is here: When I upgraded my OS from 10.6 to 10.10, the last version of iCab (5.5) was rendered useless. Private tabs are marked with a red border around the address field. The App supports private tabs which do not save any private data (Cookies, Caches etc). Modules of the module manager can be put into the status bar, so these modules are directly accessible very fast and comfortably. While it seems to work well enough, it’s conflicting with the system spell check. I do have one new caveat, the updated version seems to use it’s own spell check. It’s fast, light on memory, and highly customizable. You can just scroll down to the review I posted in September 2014, because my thoughts are exactly the same. Regardless, I’ll be patient. And if it does have issues, I hope it takes less than a year to get them fixed. I hope this version doesn’t run into the issues the last version did. Silverlight 2018 Pc Version OfJust a few is too many-> Ad block doesn't work really well at all. Again.->More than 5 tabs and hundreds of bookmarks and iCab gives me the spinning beach ball way too often->unexplainable crashes. I’d say that’s worth the wait.Well, as far as the PowerPc version of iCab 5.0 goes I have given up iCab. They are also in competition on Intel so you'd be well advised to evaluate both.ICab is a fantastic browser. This may be different on Intel, but on the PPC I feel the AuroraFox distribution of Firefox is way better and actually more stable even as it is beta software. Why would I pay a fee for this kind of performance? Why is iCab always behind? I've been avaluating iCab since before version 1.This said, iCab is better overall on PowerPC Macs than both TenFourFox (TFF) and Safari, but these are both free applications though only TFF is still being developed. However, the AuroraFox distribution beats iCab hands down. Please note I have 8gb of RAM. For instance, using the filter manager to set a simple domain preference (say, user-agent string for me.com) takes far longer than it does with OmniWeb's site preferences. The only real stumbling block I have ever encountered with iCab is that locating and understanding all of its features and settings can be a little bit difficult and/or time consuming. Needless to say, iCab is extremely feature-rich and allows you to customize just about every aspect of your browsing. Running in 64-bit under SL and using the system WebKit framework, iCab is blazingly fast and clearly outperforms OmniWeb. In any case, iCab is currently my pick because it has both OmniWeb's features and Safari's performance. Microsoft arc keyboard for macICab's filter manager offers more fine-grained control (i.e. On the other hand, the trade-off in both cases is superior control. How to block pop-up windows) and could benefit from more detailed documentation. Finally, if you want more thorough ad-blocking than comes with iCab's included filter examples, check out the additional filters on the Downloads page of the iCan website (I've found that GlimmerBlocker doesn't play nice with iCab I have no idea why). While not likely to displace Safari from its role as the default browser for most Mac users, the new version 4.5 of iCab is a prime candidate as an alternate browser for some of the tasks for which Safari does not suffice. To me, iCab's most unique feature is an outstanding Download Manager that permits downloading entire multi-page web sites including links, for offline browsing. Note that iCab also works with the most essential browser plugins, 1Password and Click-to-Flash. If you're willing to take a bit of time to sort through all of iCab's myriad options, you'll find an extremely powerful and customizable browser that blows Safari and Firefox out of the water. But seriously, this has become my go-to browser for research work and general light browsing. I haven't tried to figure out what to do with the unzipped folder, nor have I tried downloading as a set of files.Icab is so flipping intense it rips my face off, wears it and does a face-plant all over the interwebs. The archives require iCab to be opened directly (a minor drawback), but they are is really Zip archives that can be un-zipped. None of the common browsers has anything like it only some of the dedicated web download applications (like Blue Crab) have more. The downloads can be saved as single Web Archives or as sets of individual files. Aside from it's odd approach to saving login information, this is the most feature complete browser that i have ever used. Never stops development on icab. Until then, it tops safari for me and comes in a close second to camino. The developer is also quite responsive to bug reports/feature requests.
